Budget MMA and Boxing Gear: What to Buy First

You can spend a lot on combat-sports equipment if you buy everything at once. You can also start with a surprisingly small kit if you focus on what you will actually use.

For boxing

Start with hand wraps and suitable gloves. If you train at a gym, use shared heavy bags and other equipment before deciding what you need at home.

For MMA

MMA training can require specialized equipment such as MMA gloves and shin guards, depending on the class. Ask your coach what is required before buying.

Do not make every item premium

Put more of your budget into the equipment that gets the most use. A durable glove may deserve more of the budget than an accessory used only occasionally.

Look after your gear

Allow gloves and pads to dry after training, keep them clean and avoid leaving them sealed while damp. Basic care can extend the useful life of affordable equipment.

Boxing Forge manufactures boxing and MMA equipment in different materials and constructions, allowing buyers to select products around their actual training needs and budget.
