Custom Colour Matching for OEM Boxing Gloves: From Reference to Approval

Custom Colour Matching for OEM Boxing Gloves: From Reference to Approval

Colour can make a private-label glove distinctive, but it is easy to misunderstand when a project is discussed through phone photos, screenshots and messages.

Choose one reference for each colour

If you have a standard colour code, share it and identify the product part where it should be used. If you are working from a physical sample or reference image, say so clearly. Avoid sending several similar shades without identifying the final choice.

Remember the material affects appearance

The same colour can look different across textures, finishes and lighting conditions. A metallic finish and a matte surface reflect light differently. Review the reference on the intended material wherever practical.

Label every part of the design

For a multi-colour glove, identify the main panel, palm, cuff, piping, logo and stitching colours separately. An annotated image is often clearer than a paragraph describing “the darker red on the side.”

Review the proof at actual scale

Check whether colours work together and whether the logo remains readable. For metallic effects, review the finish as well as the hue. A digital mock-up is useful for layout, but confirm what needs checking on a physical sample.

Lock the decision before production

Save the final reference and approval date. If a later revision is needed, record it as a new version. A strong colour scheme does not need many effects; two or three coordinated colours and clear logo placement can be easier to manage and more recognisable.
