Polyester, Nylon and Spandex: Choosing Performance Fabrics for Sportswear

Polyester, Nylon and Spandex: Choosing Performance Fabrics for Sportswear

Sportswear fabrics are not interchangeable. Polyester, nylon and spandex each bring different characteristics to a garment. A good manufacturer should help a brand match the fabric to the activity rather than simply choosing the cheapest option.

Polyester

Polyester is widely used in performance clothing because it can be engineered for lightweight training garments and sublimation printing. It is common in jerseys, shorts and many performance tops.

Nylon and spandex

Nylon can provide a different hand feel and durability profile, while spandex is normally included for stretch and recovery. The final fabric should be selected for the garment rather than the ingredient list alone.

Ask for the real specification

Before production, confirm the fabric composition, weight, stretch direction, finish and intended use. A sample is the best way to check how the material actually feels.

A practical Boxing Forge approach

For a custom or wholesale project, the most useful starting point is a clear product brief. Tell us what you are making, who will use it, your preferred materials and branding, the quantity you are considering and where the order will be shipped. We can then work through the specification and sample requirements with you.

Good manufacturing is not just about putting a logo on a product. It is about making sure the design, materials, construction and branding all agree before the order moves into production.

Planning a custom range? Send Boxing Forge your product idea, reference photos or tech pack and your expected quantity. We can discuss the next step for OEM, ODM or private-label production from Sialkot.
